History

Revive & Thrive Project was founded by nutritionist and cancer survivor Wendy Borden. After learning about the Ceres Community Project, Wendy made the heartfelt commitment to model the program in Grand Rapids. Revive & Thrive’s first nutritious meals were home-delivered to 12 individuals with cancer on May 15, 2015.

Key elements of Revive & Thrive Project programs include:

  • Supporting individuals and families dealing with a health crisis with low-cost, home- delivered meals, nutrition education, and nurturing support

  • Involving young people as teen chefs and providing hands-on training to learn healthy eating, build confidence, job skills through experiential education

  • Supporting and promoting local food systems

  • Educating the broader community about the healthy eating and living

  • Providing a multi-generational and multi-cultural program to connect people of all ages and from all walks of life to one another, and to their value as an integral part of the community.

Revive & Thrive Project a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Grand Rapids, MI.

“Putting real food – whole, locally grown and organic – back in the center of our lives, and sharing it with others in times of need, leads to healthier and happier people, richer and more vibrant communities, and the potential to regenerate the earth that supports us.”  -Cathryn Couch, Executive Director, Ceres Community Project.
